Born and bred in South Africa, I moved to the Netherlands with my husband Eddy in 1969, the year we were married. We lived there for three and a half years before moving to England where we have been ever since.
We have twin sons Mike and Terry, and two lovely daughters-in-law, Nicola and Traer. Our darling granddaughter, Nya (daughter of Terry & Traer) was born on 1st June 2007.
Computers have been my 'thing' since 1965 (I must be one of the original 'geeks' of this world). My jobs have ranged from programming electronic NCR accounting machines, systems design and programming in machine code, assembler, Cobol, dBase, Powerbuilder, VBA through to currently training the more popular software applications of today.

CONGRATULATIONS, KARIN!
It's very exciting that you now have your very own blog, and I admire you tremendously for that. Bloggers must really have to keep on their toes, based on what I have seen with Kent's blog, as they infuse ideas into, and draw thoughts out of fellow bloggers' brains. I'm looking forward to the interaction on your blog.
Your work with the beautiful woods, would surely make many of the homes I sell look more warm, inviting, and elegant. So, you have many interests, it seems, and must have had an interesting childhood and education to get you to this very creative and artistic time in your life.
I've enjoyed reading your comments on Kent's blog, and yes...I'm finally responding to your nice comment a few weeks ago about maybe crossing the ocean one way or the other, and meeting, some day. That would be great.
Have fun with your blog!

Hi Cherie
Thank you for your kind and encouraging words (as always!).
The interesting childhood and education is part of my dear friend and 'partner-in-blogging-crime' Lesley though.
(Not that I didn't have an interesting child-hood ;-))
Looking forward to finally meeting you one day - here or across that big water.
My regards to Kent
Karin H. (Keep It Simple Sweetheart, specially in business)
