Almost two months after our first "Introduction to Blogging" workshop our bloggers bring us the following figures, facts and news on their blogging 'adventures':
Company Doctor Richard Calderwood's blog has been quoted to from three different long-established blogs:
- Bad Debts: Sitcom article on Kent Blumberg's Executive Coach blog
- A Cup of Coffee - Caffeine Related Business Building on Liz Strauss at Outstanding & Successful blog(gers) weekly category: Connecting dots with The Idea Dude
- Maintain Attitude, or you will surely crash on Robyn McMaster's Brain Based Biz in the category "Intrapersonal Intelligence" of the regular Fly High! Tap More Intelligence series.
Plus Richard is testing the 'blog'waters with a different blog platform (Wordpress) which offers more flexibility for his specific purpose than typepad at the moment:
bizRichard (since 18.11.07 the former Company Doctor's blog is redirected to this new blog)
Where there's a Will - Jaci Godman Irvine, after publishing three posts and three pages so far, definitely feels her blog will help her to have more and professional conversations with (potential) clients.
The "Healthy Water for Healthy Skin" from Flowsoft - BetterWaterSolutions receives hit after hit from all over the world from (sometime desperate) web searches.
And blog-owner Peter Allen is on the verge of launching a new blog on one of his other expertises "Nutrition for Life", so stay tuned!
Jamie O'Connell with his Credit Control Solutions blog - "Making your cash flow" reports increased traffic to his normal 'static' website after the launch of his blog. Jamie dedicates Tuesday evenings to blogging - reading, searching, studying and of course writing!
Catherine Velge of Hand Picked Wines got off to a flying start with her "What's in your glass" blog: two posts and two pages published in one day!
(And her blog is hardly 1 week old - so keep up the good work Catherine, go for it! Educate the whole world about your wine.)

Hi Karin
You and Lesley are doing a grand job - bringing so many of us kicking and screaming into the 'new' internet communication age. What has surprised me is the speed with which these blog posts and contacts multiply and accelerate across the ethersphere - it's amazing when you realise just who is tuning in to your site. And with all that activity flowing around, something positive just has to happen to our respective businesses.

Hi Richard
Thank you for your kind words (as always). Not sure about the 'kicking and screaming' remark though - the workshops are great fun!
But on the other hand I totally agree with the speed of things, the various connections we can make so seemingly easy now and the (extra) profitability it can bring to all of our businesses with this 'simple' but effective tool called a blog!

Hi karin, I agree with Richard "Kicking and Screaming" is a good description of how I came to the Blog Studio also, because as you know not only am I a particularly slow learner with all things computer, but I also saw "Blogging" merely as a strange vehicle for people with nothing better to do than to sit down and write an open diary for all to see! OK, so I was wrong but then what's new?
Yes, you quickly showed me the errors of my way and explained in your very own "most definite" and knowledgeable way how important it is to have a blog (or two) and to use them to enhance my website, that much sank in very quickly and as it was at a time where I was looking to have a site with full content management at a cost of, well lots of money blogging just took a mighty leap in my mind.
As you know most of what I was shown at the Blog Studio went straight down the drain (well I am a plumber) so I was very kucky... kucky? sorry that should read Lucky ( do we have spell checker here?) to have you "on tap" and you hand reared me to the dizzy heights of actually getting a Blog going and amazingly I am being found and read by people all over the world, and there is also another Blog somewhere linking to by blog, and you assured me that it's good!
You have now got me to put pictures on my Blog and also showed me how to move them about, and at last I've grasped how to make a link, eureka!!
So the bottom line for me with my Blog is the ££ bottom line ££, yes money, I am getting lots of activity with the blog and I am getting lots of visitors to my web site, so the next step is to get them to stay there long enough to spend some money!
Thanks for all of your help "Big Sis"
Pete.

Hi Pete
Well, dear student, that's a very nice way to tell me I'm a BULLY ;-)
(Didn't I hear both you and Richard mention that 'fact' one sunny Sunday afternoon in September?)
Thanks mate!
